Since 1986, School Health Clinics of Santa Clara County has been providing easily accessible, quality health care to infants, children and adolescents on school campuses. Our clinics are located at schools in four school districts in east San Jose and Gilroy. They are open to all children in Santa Clara County.
One in seven children in Santa Clara County lives in poverty. Among the county’s Hispanic population, 25 percent of households live below the federal poverty level and a large percentage of them do not have any type of health insurance coverage. This is the population largely served by School Health Clinics of Santa Clara County.
Our clinics are staffed with a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, a bilingual Spanish-speaking medical assistant, and a bilingual Spanish-speaking receptionist. Supervising physicians oversee the clinics under the management of our medical director, Dr. Monica Mensah, who is a board-certified pediatrician with 35 years experience.
