Event Description: The Employee Handbook is (or should be) one of the cornerstones of any company’s human resources infrastructure. All companies should review and update their Employee Handbooks periodically, preferably every 12 to 18 months. Some policies (such as those relating to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, rest breaks, paid sick leave, confidential information, and social media) should be added or updated in 2017 to comply with changes in the law that have occurred over the past year, and others should be refined so that they remain state of the art. This seminar will assist employers in creating or updating an Employee Handbook to aid them in complying with applicable laws and minimizing the risk of claims from employees. This program approved for 2.75 (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute. F and for 2.75 hours of "General" California MCLE credit.
