In this informative but easily digestible webinar, learn from HR attorney, Richard Schramm, about California's very rigid and specific law regarding the requirements for hiring someone as an independent contractor vs. as an employee, and avoid the pitfalls of a costly mistake.

The default presumption of the government and courts is that everyone is an employee, and as of a few years ago, the test became much more difficult to overcome that presumption. 

It’s a dangerous area for employers, who often incorrectly believe that if they and the individual want an independent contractor relationship, that’s all that it takes. Richard will translate the legal-speak into plain language for the rest of us, and he'll explain California’s independent contractor test, how it applies, and speak to some of the exceptions to the test.
