The Women in Leadership (WIL) Speaker Series is a quarterly, four-part event that brings together professional women from across the region to connect, learn, and lead. Each session features a local speaker, structured networking, and opportunities to engage in meaningful conversation.

Dr. Simone Lundquist is the Founder and Executive Director of Open Doors to Future Possibilities, a California-based nonprofit supporting Veterans, First Responders, and underserved communities in healing trauma and achieving personal growth—at no cost to them or their families.

This program is made possible by the sponsorship of  Dr. Melody Lynd, Inc, a Chamber Impact Investor, who is also a veteran herself.

New Meanings to the Past, New Beginning for the Future

These days, we live in a chaotic, unpredictable world and consequently might experience sadness, anxiety, and irritability, facing big or small traumatic events.

In this talk, you will hear about new ways to look at these feelings and experiences so you can feel stronger and more resilient than before and muster the courage to dream big and discover your special gifts and talents.

These new perspectives will help you find out what is holding you back, and how to overcome the poignant impacts of past trauma, resolve conflict, achieve your goals and dreams, and attract more desirable people and circumstances into your life. Most importantly, you will learn about the simple secrets to joy and happiness within!

More about Dr. Lundquist

With a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and three master’s degrees, Dr. Lundquist has nearly 40 years of international teaching experience and over 30 years as a highly respected counselor—earning the nickname “the miracle worker” at Santa Clara County Mental Health.

She is a full-time Professor at San Jose State University and has collaborated with the United Nations, Red Cross, and Red Crescent to support survivors of war, assault, and torture around the world.

A passionate human rights advocate and lifelong learner, she blends academic rigor, lived experience, and deep empathy to help individuals transcend hardship and lead empowered, fulfilling lives.
