Sunday Friends empowers families in need to break the cycle of poverty. Children and parents earn basic necessities while they contribute to their community, learn life skills and develop self-sufficiency. Because of our unique integrated platform of opportunities for families to earn, help others and learn life skills in the place of handouts, we believe Sunday Friends can serve as a model anti-poverty and anti-violence program throughout the Bay Area and the US. Our goal to add new sites over the coming years presents a significant logistical and administrative challenge. However, we are committed to making our belief a reality: every low-income family deserves opportunities like those afforded by Sunday Friends.. To reach this goal, we constantly work to streamline our activities and combine our resources with other community organizations in the certainty that only by working together with families can long-term and multi-generational poverty be overcome.
