About
At Turkish Airlines, we continue on our journey with the same excitement that started 82 years ago with just five aircraft. But now, as Turkey’s rising star, our fleet has expanded to 298 aircraft both passenger and cargo. Our growth figures have placed us among the world’s leading airlines. In 2013, we made the important decision to sign the order for the largest aircraft in Turkish Civil Aviation history. As a flag-carrier airline, we took this step with the aim of lowering the average age of our fleet and pushing the rising line on our service-quality graph even higher over the next few years. Taking into account the 212 narrow-body aircraft that are starting to filter into our fleet together with the aircraft whose lease period is almost over, our total fleet, including cargo aircraft, is expected to reach 421 by the end of 2020. We expect the current average age of our fleet, which is 6.9 years, to go down to 6 years with the addition of our new aircraft.
