6/1 meeting: we will be hearing from the folks at the Alcoholic Beverage Control department about the new a new law taking effect on July 1: California Assembly Bill 122 – The Responsible Beverage Service Training Act.

This will impact employees at over 56,000 businesses in California that are licensed by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) – which includes businesses such as restaurants, bars, wineries, breweries, and any business that sells alcohol for consumption on the premises. AB 1221 will mandate that every alcohol server and their managers be trained in Responsible Beverage Service and certified by ABC within 60 days.
